Town of Kimball warns residents to be cautious amid reports of large bear in the area

Kimball, WV (WOAY) Residents in the Kimball area are being urged to use caution after reports of a large bear roaming through the neighborhood.

Officials say the bear has gotten into several garbage bins over the past two nights, and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources has been notified.

As a precaution, residents are encouraged to avoid putting trash outside until pickup day and to remove potential food sources such as pet food, bird feeders, and drinks stored outdoors.

Authorities also remind the public not to approach or feed the bear and to call 911 if the animal begins acting aggressively.
