Bluefield, VA (WOAY) The Town of Bluefield received a large grant geared toward renovating a historical building downtown.
The city earned a $250,000 Tobacco Commission Grant to fund the renovation of the former Graham jewelry building at 542 Virginia Avenue.
According to an official media release, the funding will turn the formerly vacant building into a new hub supporting economic development, job creation, and renewed activity in Bluefield’s downtown.
Once the project is complete, city officials expect the building to provide commercial space while maintaining it’s characters as a historic property.
Construction and redevelopment plans are in the works for the renovation project.
