CHARLESTON, WV (WOAY)- The West Virginia Department of Education has awarded 24 school systems with School Safety Project grants, three of those being in our viewing area.
Mercer, Nicholas, and Wyoming County Schools will each be receiving $50,000.
These grants are part of a million dollar appropriation to assist in improving or enhancing the safety of school buildings. Some of the projects include securing entrances, access controls, security cameras, lock replacements, transaction windows, bollards, and security window film.
