West Virginia (CNN)- Thousands of space heaters sold on Amazon have been recalled due to fire and electric shock risks.
The recall is for nearly 8,000 Vornado brand VH2 whole-room heaters with July or August 2024 date codes.
The heaters sold for about $90 on Amazon between August and October 2024.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says the device’s power cord can partially detach from the heater enclosure, eventually leading to cord damage, posing a risk of electric shock and fire.
The agency says consumers should stop using the heaters and contact the company for a free replacement.
