WHEELING, WV (WOAY)- The northern panhandle devastated last night, as there’s at least 5 people dead in wheeling after the storm brought major flash flooding.
The video on your screen is the flooding in the big wheeling creek posted to Facebook by the wheeling fire department last night. Among those dead was a 3-year-old child.
There are also about 3 people still missing. Officials say there was about 2.5 to 4 inches of rainfall all within a half an hour. Search and rescue has been underway since last night.
Governor Morrisey has also declared a state of emergency for Ohio and Marion counties.
