Beckley, W. Va. (WOAY)- Theatre West Virginia is inviting the community to celebrate Valentine’s week with an interactive fundraiser that blends comedy, mystery, and audience participation.
k.b. saine, Artistic Director of Theatre West Virginia, says the idea came together after organizers were asked to create a special fundraiser around Valentine’s Day. The team partnered with colleagues from Vintage Theatre Company, a Clarksburg based group known for murder mysteries and improvisational performances.
The event features an interactive murder mystery dinner theater inspired by the classic television show The Dating Game. Guests will enjoy a full dinner while actively participating as a live studio audience during the performance.
According to saine, the experience is designed to be immersive and entertaining, with plenty of unexpected twists as the night unfolds.
“Patrons can come enjoy a full meal, but they are also part of the show as a live TV audience for this recording of The Dating Game,” saine said. “Shenanigans ensue, things get a little crazy, and it should be a really fun night. We are excited to have them in town.”
The fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, February 13, which fittingly falls on Friday the 13th. Tickets are seventy-five dollars and include dinner and the live performance. A previously scheduled Saturday show was canceled due to weather.
For more information about the event and ticket details, organizers encourage the public to check out the event flyer.
