It has been a pleasant and mild Friday afternoon around the region, with most areas in the mid-80s, with lower 90s in the typically warmer spots in our southwestern areas. There is still a possibility for a stray pop-up shower or storm in the higher elevation locations, but the window to see one is closing fast, with any storms that might pop up driven by the heating of the day, which we’ll lose in the next couple of hours.
Tonight, there could be some patchy fog again, but otherwise it should be a nice night around the area, with seasonably cool temperatures.
The first half of the weekend looks a lot like today, with mild temperatures and a continued small chance for showers and storms in the higher elevations. Saturday night will be seasonably cool again, but the chances for fog are smaller than tonight as the air mass that we’re under is drier. Sunday features another mild day. The chance for storms will be slightly higher than today, but the areas that could see a storm or two will remain the same.
After a very nice Monday, beginning late Tuesday, a front will approach the area from the northwest, and that will enhance the chances for showers and storms. They’ll increase into the likely category by Wednesday and Thursday before dropping back a bit at the end of the extended forecast. The forecast for the next seven days can be split into two when it comes to temperatures, especially the highs. With the passage of the front, the mild temperatures that we’ll see this weekend will give way to cooler readings late in the extended forecast. Highs will drop to around the normal or just below it beginning Wednesday and extending to the end of the seven-day outlook next Friday.
