The Loop Continues; Josephine Forms

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Another brisk morning is upon us in southern West Virginia. Isolated fog is also forming, but will not be an issue for the majority of the region. If you are heading towards Charleston, fog will become a greater issue this morning. Regardless of where you are headed, use your low beams and drive carefully when commuting this morning. Skies stay sunny, which will result in the fog burning off a bit later this morning.

Afternoon conditions will remain the same as the last few days. Sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid-60s will dominate the viewing area. It will be another great day to get out and enjoy, but a light hoodie or sweater will come in handy. You should be able to shed the heavier layers you are wearing this morning. Temperatures will fall quickly after sunset, starting the loop all over again. Here’s the latest from Meteorologist Christian Boteler:

The only weather of note across the eastern part of the country is the formation of Subtropical Storm Josephine. It will bring coastal erosion, gusty winds, and high waves across the northeastern coast. Storms and rain are most likely in New England before it moves towards Europe. It will not impact our area, which is good news for us. Josephine aside, we are in a very uneventful weather pattern for this time of the year.

High pressure will dominate the eastern third of the country, keeping the region stable and dry. Temperatures remain on the cooler side as well, especially during the nighttime and morning hours. If you plan on attending any of the football games tomorrow night, they will kick off without issue. Just remember to bring layers for the second half of the game.

The weekend will be similarly nice, which will allow any and all weekend plans to commence smoothly. These nicer conditions will last into most of next week despite a frontal system trying to move into the region from the Midwest. Rain becomes a possibility late next week, but there is plenty of uncertainty regarding the Halloween forecast. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
