The Ghoul Get Down is this Friday

Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – The famous Fayetteville square dance comes but twice a year, and the final dance of 2026 is this Friday, October 23, at the Outpost.

The Ghoul Get Down begins with a dance lesson at 6:30 p.m., with the live music kicking off the official dance at 7 p.m. The dance will go until 9 p.m.; however, there will be food available until 10 p.m. to replenish after all those do-si-dos.

The band will be the Mill Creek String Band.

There is a $10 suggested cash donation to enjoy the live music and dance.

They will also be passing the hat for donations to support the outpost, their venue sponsor, as they suffered some flood damage from the big storms over the summer.

Halloween is, of course, right around the corner, so costumes are encouraged. It is called the Ghoul Get Down after all.

No experience is necessary, so don’t be intimidated. Just try to make the lesson at 6:30 p.m.

The dance is organized by a loose group of community members who just like to throw square dance parties.
