The Friends of Charity Auto Fair always has room for sponsors

The 20th annual Friends of Charity Auto Fair is the biggest car show in Southern West Virginia. After its unfortunate cancellation last year, the charity event’s beneficiaries at the Hospice of Southern West Virginia and Brian’s Safehouse are thrilled to bring the event back this July. The event is slated to bring over five hundred cars.

While the fair is still a few months away, it’s never too early for local businesses, artisans, and food vendors to secure a spot or become a sponsor.

Jeri Knowlton, the Director of Public Relations for Hospice of Southern West Virginia, is involved with much of the planning for the event, and explains how those who want to take part can contribute to both organizations’ causes:

“There are wonderful ways that you can join forces with us… benefiting Hospice of Southern West Virginia and Brian’s Safe House. You can be a sponsor at the event and come out and participate that way, based on your donation level. You can have a great big space or whatever you need.”

Leon Brush, CEO of Brian’s Safehouse and Sparrow’s Nest, adds that the event is a great opportunity for local businesses to reach a large audience:

“There are thousands of people that show up, which is a good opportunity to get some exposure to some of your things that you would like to display as a vendor.”

Both car enthusiasts and families simply looking for a fun time will find something worthwhile at the fair, says Knowlton:

“We want this to be a really great time for families when they come out. We’re creating a really fun family zone for this year. We’re very excited about it. And we’ve got a couple of surprises up our sleeve…”

Brush says that sponsors make the Friends of Charity’s efforts possible, both at the fair and in helping people and families in their day-to-day operations:

“If you have a business or you want to be a sponsorship person in the event, that would be well appreciated. And then if you’ve got something that you want to do, make sure you reserve the weekend of the auto fair, which is July 9th and 10th.”
