The chance for rain remains but it’s nothing like we’ve seen; drier days next week await

It’s been a pretty nice day for weather across Southern West Virginia, no rain has been moving through the region yesterday or today. However, that won’t last long because rain is expected back by Thursday morning. The good news is that the rain shouldn’t accumulate much due to not much of this being heavy rainfall. There is potential for some heavy rainfall as we head through the day Thursday and potentially into Friday. The European model also shows not much accumulation through the region over the next 7 days as we have more chances of dry weather next week that we are tracking.

Here is the risk of excessive rainfall that has shifted around our area. This has updated since yesterday as we were in the Marginal Risk and now it basically circles around the majority of our area, slightly keeping our western and northern areas in.

Here’s a look at the full 7 day forecast that shows quite a few more dry days which we love to see. The rain chances on Thursday and Friday won’t be super widespread, but some places could receive moderate to heavy rain at times. We dry up Sunday through Tuesday before we are keeping our eyes on another system for Wednesday that currently has low confidence in rain, so the percentage will get more fine-tuned over the coming days.
