Athens, WV (WOAY)- This summer marks the 16th anniversary of the Appalachian Shakespeare Project, and they’re celebrating in royal style with Shakespeare’s most famous history play, King Henry the Fifth.
Audiences can catch this thrilling production on July 18 and 19 at 6:00 p.m. and on July 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pipestem Resort State Park amphitheater.
The show also hits the Concord University campus on July 25 and 26 at 6:00 p.m., with a matinee on July 27 at 2:00 p.m.
Directed by Dr. Gabriel Rieger, the play promises sword fights, romance, and rich Renaissance costuming all under the summer sky.
Theater major Lexi Hall joins as assistant director, bringing a fresh perspective and dynamic stage movement to the show.
Veteran actors and newcomers round out the cast, delivering Shakespeare’s classic tale of power, patriotism, and courage with passion and heart.
Audiences are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and picnic dinners for this family-friendly outdoor event.
