Hico, WV (WOAY) – Fayetteville traveled to Midland Trail on Friday in a county rivalry. Both sets of fans were wearing purple to support Midland Trail principal Diane Blume as she continues her fight with cancer.
The Lady Pirates and Lady Patriots played a close contest in the first half, with the visitors leading 28-24 at intermission. Fayetteville went on a run to open the third quarter, going on to win 67-37.
Kendall Malay led all scorers with 23 points, while Autumn Hill added 21 and Caroline Fenton had 12 for the Lady Pirates. Mallory Stonestreet & Makenna Nickell each scored eight points for Midland Trail.
