Princeton, WV (WOAY)- A primary power line serving WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) was accidentally severed around 7 p.m. on July 14.
However, hospital officials say patient care was never at risk.
The hospital quickly switched to backup generator power, with additional systems brought in to ensure smooth operations.
Thanks to backup generators, all essential services and patient care were fully supported.
While the main power line is being repaired, outpatient clinics like ENT, oncology, cardiology, lab services, surgery, and medical imaging are still up and running.
Patients will be contacted directly if there’s a need to reschedule.
If you do not receive a call, your appointment is still on.
Primary care clinics, specialty clinics, the Behavioral Health Center, and the Bluefield Emergency Department are all unaffected.
Some elective procedures may be delayed as a precaution.
If you have questions, call your clinic or the hospital directly.
The hospital thanks the community for its patience and understanding as it works toward a safe, complete restoration.
