Temperatures remain fairly mild before rain returns mid-week

A very nice Halloween Saturday across West Virginia. Dry weather will stick with us through Tuesday, although there is a small chance of showers Sunday and early Monday. The reason this is a small chance (20%) is because weather models are forecasting a decent layer of dry air at and just above the surface that could cause most of if not all of the rain that falls to evaporate before reaching the surface. There is still a chance that if it comes down heavy enough in some places that light rain can make it to the surface. The best chances of rain comes Wednesday and Thursday with a stronger storm system.

The rainfall totals continue to fluctuate between both models as the European model specifically adds and then takes the rain away from our area consistently. With the uncertainty, it’s very hard to pinpoint where exactly the heavier rain will fall if we even get any. Still expect around a half-an-inch for some with the potential that this continues to increase or decrease as we get closer.

As we take a look at the 7 day forecast, brief chances of rain exist Sunday and Monday with temperatures staying mild before we do warm up slightly towards the upper 60’s before rain enters back in the forecast by Wednesday. Overall, temperatures will remain fairly mild and look to potentially stay that way through the majority of November.
