Temperature Finally on the Climb; Calmer Week Ahead

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Some isolated flurries are expected in the area until later in the afternoon, with temperatures in the mid-20s. We finally break the 30s tomorrow with mostly sunny skies, making for a seasonable day and a good weekend day in what seems like forever. Sunday may see some snow in the highest elevations, but mostly cloudy skies will prevail in most areas.

Monday and Tuesday bring a beautiful start to next week with mostly sunny skies and more seasonable temperatures throughout. Wednesday may bring some rain and snow to the area, with snow lingering on the backend on Thursday. Right now, it is looking like this snow will not accumulate much, but we will have more details as information comes out.

Looking into February, we are looking at milder temperatures overall as the Pacific Ridge pattern sets in, giving the eastern United States a rest from the cold we have been seeing so far in January. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
