TBT run ends in quarterfinals for Herd That

WOAY – After two wins in earlier rounds, Herd That fell 93-76 to Overseas Elite on Saturday in the quarterfinals of The Basketball Tournament 2020.

Overseas Elite – which won four straight editions of TBT from 2015 to 2018 – was led by 35 points from seven-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson, the most individual points in a single game in TBT this year. Herd That never led in the game, but Jon Elmore led the team, which mostly consists of former Marshall men’s basketball players, with 23 points. Chris Cokley recorded 17 points, while Ryan Luther – who scored the game-winning basket in the second round – chipped in with 11.

Fayette County Rondale Watson, who played high school basketball at both Oak Hill and Greenbrier East, finished with two points, one assist, and one rebound for Herd That.

Following the game, Ot Elmore, who is both a player and Herd That’s general manager, posted to Twitter that the team intends to enter future TBT editions.
