Tazewell relocated police department

Tazewell County, VA (WOAY) – The town of Tazewell has officially relocated its police department, moving from just off Main Street to a new facility on Hillsboro Drive in North Tazewell.

Police Chief Stanley Lampert says the transition came at minimal cost to taxpayers.

Much of the equipment, like desks and other furnishings, was brought over from the old location, while the new building, a former bank, already came with usable furniture.

New computers were purchased primarily through grant funding.

Chief Lampert says the biggest benefit of the move is space, the new location offers plenty of room for future expansion, thanks to the size of the property.
