Tazewell, VA (WOAY)- The Tazewell Police Department is adding new technology to its toolkit.
Deputy Chief Will Lowe successfully secured a grant from the Community Foundation of the Virginias, Inc., to fund the purchase of an M30 enterprise drone.
The department says this advanced equipment will help officers serve the community more safely and effectively.
Policies and procedures are in development to prevent misuse once operational.
The department extended its thanks to Deputy Chief Lowe for his initiative and to the community foundation for its generous support.
