Tazewell, VA (WOAY) Tazewell County Sheriffs are notifying the public about a scam happening in the area.
The department has been made aware of a notice of hearing regarding a traffic violation that reportedly comes from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Officers also urge the public NOT to scan the QR code on the flyer or send any requested payments.
Authorities state that the notice is fraudulent and advise anyone who receives one to disregard it.
