Tazewell County Public Schools releases plan to reopen in the fall

Educators voicing concerns on reopening schools

TAZEWELL COUNTY, VA (WOAY) – Tonight, the Tazewell County School Board met to discuss plans to reopen in the fall.

The school board has laid out a plan that involves a four day in-person school week. Students would be in class Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with Wednesdays being online learning.

The board would have social distancing measures in place with students being kept at three to six-foot intervals as much as possible and wearing masks when those distances are not possible.

The school board is also working to provide students with additional wifi hot spots in the school parking lit and providing students with computers to use at home.
