BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Award-winning author Dreama Denver, wife of TV legend Bob “Gilligan” Denver will debut her new book ‘Island to Icon: The Many Lives of Bob Denver‘ at Tamarack on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
The Marketplace is excited to welcome the love of such an iconic Mountain State figure.
“The book captures some of the memories of Bob Denver’s life, both his professional and personal life,” said marketing manager Sara Horning. “The nostalgia and a pop culture moment that relates to West Virginia because he considered West Virginia (Princeton) to be his home.”
Having Dreama at Tamarack is like sharing a little piece of the Gilligan’s Island star.
“Making an icon and a celebrity seem a little more real, just a nice positive thing,” Horning said. “It brings in not only the fans of Gilligan’s Island but also people interested in pop culture, somebody might learn something new.”
You can catch the author from 10 am to 4:30 pm and she would love to see you there.
“Book signing and willing to discuss any questions people may have about their life,” said the marketing manager. “She’ll be set up in the book section.”
Dreama will talk about what inspired her husband’s life career and their life together.
“We celebrate all things that relate back here and all things that maybe have come from here or been inspired by here,” Horning said. “Exciting to have such an iconic and very popular person from here be remembered.”
