Beckley, WV (WOAY) Raleigh County Sheriffs have extradited a suspect to the Mountain State in connection with a shooting investigation
Authorities report that on Monday, March 2, Detective Dunlap and Deputy White extradited 41-year-old Joseph Shelton to West Virginia from Cleveland, Ohio.
Shelton had an active warrant stemming from a shooting investigation that occurred last month.
He was arrested in Ohio due to that active warrant, and Raleigh County Deputies responded, transporting him back to face attempted first-degree murder charges.
The charges stem from a shooting that took place on January 18 in Sprague.
Shelton now awaits further court proceedings in Southern Regional Jail on a $150,000 cash bond.
We’ll provide further updates as we receive more details.
