WV (WOAY) – The longest-tenured Justice on the Supreme Court has announced that she will retire in June. Justice Beth Walker was first elected in 2016 and served as Chief Justice in 2019 and 2023.
Walker said it is time to usher in a new generation, and she wants to spend more time with her friends and family. All four Justices praised Walker.
The Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission will make recommendations to Governor Patrick Morrisey, who has the final say on Walker’s replacement.
