Summersville Police Department to host SWAT training course on July 28

Summersville, WV (WOAY) – The Summersville Police Department announces an upcoming Basic SWAT course for law enforcement officers.  

This 40-hour training will cover topics including team organization, basic CQB principles, arrest team tactics, high-risk warrant service, vehicle assaults, less lethal options, and more.  

While you must be an active-duty officer to enroll in the course, the class is not limited to authorities who are currently serving or aspiring to serve on active SWAT teams.  

Officers in any duty assignment or training level are welcome to attend and learn valuable tactics applicable to daily operations, ranging from routine traffic stops to standard service calls.  

The training will take place Monday, July 28, through Thursday, July 31, at the Summersville Police Department.
