Summersville, WV (WOAY) If you’re traveling through Nicholas County this weekend, expect to see extra law enforcement on the roads.
The Summersville Police Department will conduct a DUI sobriety checkpoint Friday, July 10, from 9:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m.
The checkpoint will be on Broad Street in Summersville, with an alternate location on Webster Road, and will be supported by roving DUI patrols throughout the night.
Officers will be watching for impaired drivers, underage drinking, and motorists driving with suspended or revoked licenses.
The Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention funds the effort, and drivers are reminded to buckle up, designate a sober driver if drinking, and always drive safely.
