Hinton, WV (WOAY) – A local sheriff’s department is doing is doing what it can to help one of West Virginia’s hardest hit areas.
According to a post on the departments Facebook page, the Summers County Sheriff’s Department is collecting donations to help McDowell County residents following this weekend’s catastrophic flood. They’re asking the public to drop off items like nonperishable food, drinking water, toiletries, baby food, wipes and feminine products.
The items can be dropped off in the 911 center parking area at 451 1st Avenue in Hinton, WV on February 24,25 and 27, 2025.
