Summers County man dies in mobile home fire

(UPDATE 3/2/2020 10:44 AM) – Authorities have released further information about the victim of a residential fire.

The 75-year-old man had multiple health issues. He died in a mobile home fire on Biggs Lane.

Due to the severity of the damage to the home, the state Fire Marshal’s Office said the exact cause could not be determined, but the fire was likely accidental. It appears to have started near a wood stove and flue.

SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – A Summers County man died in a house fire Sunday morning.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshals office confirmed that a man died during a mobile home fire. The fire was reported at 6:37 am on Sunday, March 1, on Tug Creek Mountain outside of the city limits of Hinton.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The man’s name hasn’t been released at this time.

Summers County Volunteer Fire Department responded.
