Summers County Health Department conducts free COVID-19 testing for vulnerable populations

HINTON, WV (WOAY) – The Summers County Health Department conducted free COVID-19 testing in Hinton.

The testing is part of an initiative by the governor to increase testing in minority and other vulnerable populations.

According to the Summers County Health Department Administrator Chad Meador, now is a good time to get tested with new cases popping up around the county.

“With a lot of hotspots popping up across the county – Myrtle Beach, other locations. It’s just a good opportunity to come and get tested just to see if you’re a carrier of COVID-19, and quite frankly just a little peace of mind as well,” Meador said.

Other areas that held free testing this weekend included Ohio and Putnam counties.
