Summers County football continues Phase One workouts

HINTON, WV (WOAY) – Hear from Summers County football head coach Chris Vicars as the Bobcats continue Phase One of the WVSSAC’s guidelines regarding strength training and conditioning workouts this summer.

At least 20 players have been taking part in workouts since the team began drills earlier this week, and Vicars says additional teams have plans to take advantage of the official three-week practice period in July. He notes all the players who’ve worked out have been eager to return to a sense of normality.

Phase Two is slated to begin next week, while Phase Three – which coincides with the official three-week summer practice period begins July 6. In Phase Two, players can work out in slightly larger groups, and can also use indoor facilities.
