Summers County Committee for Excellence in Education encourages voters to approve school levy

Summers County, WV (WOAY)- There are some residents in Summers County who are hoping to make history on election day November 5. 

It has been an unbelievable 45 years since voters in Summers County approved a school levy. 

The last time one passed was in 1979. 

In order to raise awareness and motivate voters to approve the school levy in the upcoming election some concerned citizens formed the Summers County Committee for Excellence in Education. 

They have rallies scheduled through the month of october throught summers county to draw attention to the issue. 

Mike Teaney caught up with the organizers and other supporters of the levy and has the story.
