Summers County BOE elects new superintendent

HINTON, WV (WOAY) – Summers County Schools will soon have a new superintendent.

The Summers County Board of Education held a meeting this morning and elected David A. Warvel as the new superintendent, in a 5-0 vote. His term will begin on July 1, 2020, if he accepts.

The new consideration comes after an investigation into the current superintendent, Kimberly Rhodes.  Questions have arisen about grading procedures and financial records.
