Successful Labor Day weekend transitions Ace Adventure Resort into the fall season

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Labor Day weekend presented a great opportunity to end the summer for outdoor businesses.

Ace Adventure Resort has been fortunate to have a profitable summer over the last few months. This Weekend marked a successful transition into the fall.

“We’re winding down a really great Labor Day weekend here at Ace Adventure Resort with folks from in-state as well as out-of state,” said Marketing Director Haynes Mansfield. “We had a clam bake, as well as a regional craft brew festival that was featuring West Virginia craft breweries. That was very well attended. And then we kind of wrapped up the weekend with some good rafting packages.”

Ace also sells used outdoor gear throughout the summer. Even though this weekend was busy, there are still opportunities to buy gear before the end of the year.

“We sold off a lot of our used outdoor gear,” Mansfield said. “Like stand-up paddle boards and kayaks, things like that. The good news is, we didn’t sell it all. While that stuff is hard to find out there at a lot of the stores, we’re moving the extra used boats and stand-up paddle boards over to Ace Adventure Gear in Fayetteville.”

While the summer may be winding down, Ace is already looking ahead to what the fall has in store.

“Our next big event coming up is ‘Nightmare on the Gorge,’ Mansfield said. “That starts on October 9th. We’ve got a whole new story line. We’ve got all new characters. If you’ve been before and you come out, you’re going to see a completely new and improved experience.”

Ace is asking folks to buy tickets online in advance of what should be one of the highlights of the fall season for the resort.
