Morgantown, WV (WOAY) – Several West Virginia University students have had their student visas terminated by the government.
As of Wednesday, April 9, 2025, one student and three alumni from the Morgantown Campus and three students at WVU Institute of Technology in Beckley had been notified of terminations.
According to WVU Director of News Communications Shauna Johnson, West Virginia University is working directly with students affected by U.S. federal government decisions to revoke student visas and terminate records in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System or SEVIS.
In all cases, the justification was “Name found in criminal records check.”
