WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Following lots of rumbles on Thursday, upper-level ridging will guarantee far fewer storms later today.
WEATHER OVERVIEW: Yes, there will be storms in about 25% of our real estate in southern West Virginia today between 4-8 p.m. and today will be warmer than Thursday. If there are any high school football interruptions, they would occur along I-77 in the first few minutes of the game. A cold front will slice into the Ohio Valley on Saturday and trigger showers across our region. A few more spits are expected Sunday and then a period of dry, cooler and less weather arrives Sunday evening into Tuesday before temperatures start to rebound.
Another front will be the catalyst for a few showers (likely no lightning) Friday into early Saturday before an even stronger push of cool air arrives next weekend (Sept. 7-8).
