BLUEFIELD, WV (WOAY) – The Bluefield Fire Department is teaming up with State Farm to teach fire safety.
State Farm often teams up with fire departments to help teach about preventing house fires. They plan to host a prevention campaign during Fire Prevention Week this October. The Bluefield Fire Chief Adrian Conner says State Farm is a huge supporter of their fire prevention efforts in the community.
“They’ve assisted us with some fire prevention materials. Usually that’s why we go around the schools and teach fire prevention. I think it’s good that they’re giving back. Without stuff like this, our efforts to do fire prevention stuff would be hampered,” Conner said.
For the campaign, State Farm is donating fire prevention education kits to the fire department.
