Fairlea, WV (WOAY) This Saturday was the final day of the West Virginia State Fair. The festivities will continue until the end of tonight’s Stone Temple Pilots concert. It’s been a fantastic fair season with amazing shows, thrilling rides, and delicious food that keeps thousands coming back year after year.
And preparations for next year’s fair began well before this year’s. Fair CEO Kelly Collins says that the fair’s second century had a great start.
“It’s always so bittersweet when we end the state fair. It’s ten days – it’s a long ten days, but it’s a fun ten days. And we worked so long to get it up and going, and it’s over all of a sudden. But we’ve had a great week. We’ve had a little bit of rain; we’ve had a lot of sunshine, a lot of people through the gates. And I think overall it’s been a great fair for our 101st anniversary.”
