PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – A Mercer County Family Resource Center called Starting Points held their annual backpack give away this afternoon.
The organization gave away over 600 backpacks to students in the area. Each bag was filled with pencils, notecards, glue, notebooks, markers and other school supplies.
“Right now is a stressful time for everyone on whether to send your kids to school or not. So on top of that, you have the stress you have the financial burden to buy school supplies so we hope to ease that burden,” said Starting Point Manager Tonya Millam.
Millam said she’s glad her organization was able to give back especially during these tough times.
