PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – A music school is trying to give students a chance to continue their lessons online.
Stages Music School has been using Zoom meetings with their classes to record entire musical pieces.
Melissa McKinney, owner of the music school, says it’s a way for the kids to continue their musical education while also creating art for their community.
“Recording individual arts from home, and then joining all the parts together and editing it into a video. Just was an idea of trying to keep our students connected and also put out a message to our friends and families, and the world that there are still good things going on,” McKinney said.
Stages Music School is also still offering one-on-one classes, although McKinney admits those sessions have been more difficult to do remotely.
