Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Spring is a great time to service your air conditioning unit before you need it to beat the summer heat.
HVAC instructor Harold Newsome at the Academy of Careers and Technology says you should remember to have your heating and cooling units serviced annually:
“…You want to have your air conditioning serviced in the spring just before the real cooling season kicks in. And then you want to get your heating equipment serviced in the Fall, just before you really need the heat.”
“Servicing your equipment does two things: First of all, it’s going to extend the life of your equipment. A lot of times, we don’t realize this, but the equipment we have now costs substantially less than the equipment that we’re going to have to buy to replace it. So the longer that equipment lasts, the better it is for us financially and economically. And so maintaining it, getting it clean, getting it serviced, checking for problems before they become a major issue will really extend the life of your equipment and save you money in the long run.”
