Good afternoon folks. We are already tracking some light rain across southern West Virginia this afternoon, especially near the Virginia border. If you’ve seen showers today, get ready for more—rain chances will continue off and on into the evening. But the real weather maker arrives tomorrow.
A potent storm system is set to move across the state on Friday, bringing widespread rain and the potential for heavy downpours. Some of these storms could lead to flash flooding, especially in low-lying or flood-prone areas. Off-and-on storms are expected throughout the day, with nearly every resident in our region likely to see some rain.
Tomorrow is one of those days where we have high confidence in a washout—so don’t forget to grab the umbrella and rain jacket before heading out the door.
Storm chances will linger into Saturday, but the good news is that drier and more pleasant weather returns by Sunday and continues into next week.
