Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) A southern West Virginia nonprofit is now offering state tax credits to people who donate to its programs.

The Southern Appalachian Labor School (SALS) has been certified for the 2026-2027 Neighborhood Investment Program.

SALS has been awarded more than $23,000 in tax credits to distribute to donors.

Donations of at least $500 can qualify, including cash, property, building materials, supplies, equipment, vehicles, and stock.

Donors may receive a West Virginia state tax credit worth up to 50% of the donation.

Credits are available through June 30, 2027, and those received before the end of this year may be used on taxes due for the current year.

SALS says the funds support programs including housing, youth, education, and health services.
