Some rain and some shine this weekend

Howdy folks, and happy Friday! It’s been a sweaty week, and those warm conditions aren’t going anywhere. The one change on the way? Daily storm chances as we head into the weekend.

Expect scattered storms Saturday and Sunday afternoons—yes, they could literally rain on your parade. That said, neither day looks like a complete washout, so keep your plans but have a backup ready just in case!

Rain chances return for southern West Virginia beginning Saturday and will continue through Monday. The good news? No significant impacts are expected. The threat for flash flooding and severe weather remains low. Still, as always, if you hear thunder, head indoors to stay safe.

By Tuesday, we’ll dry out again—but we’ll also crank up the heat. Temperatures will soar into the upper 80s and low 90s, with heat indices making it feel closer to 100 degrees at times next week. It might be a good idea to plan ahead for indoor activities or something involving water to beat the heat. Stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy the weekend!
