Soggy Monday Morning Leads To Drier End of Week

After the showers and storms move out Sunday night, there will be a brief break going into early Monday morning before more widespread rain moves through the area. This is a look right around the morning commute that shows the potential for some moderate rain falling for some. Unfortunately, this won’t make a huge impact on the drought that we are in, but any little bit helps.

The rain Monday will move out by Monday afternoon and will lead to a mostly clear day Monday through Tuesday before more showers and thunderstorms make an appearance on Wednesday. This also looks to be early in the day, lasting until the afternoon hours before it starts to move out. Temperatures behind this rain on Thursday willl be fairly chilly with some people not even reaching 60 degrees, but we will warm back up pretty quickly going into the next weekend.

Here is a look at the European model’s estimate on the rainfall totals over the next 7 days. Most people stay below an inch and most people actually stay right around a half-inch of rain. With us needing at the minimum 10 inches to really make a huge dent in the drought, this helps us very little.

Temperatures will remain mild throughout the next 7 days, the only exception being Thursday, which will be chilly. Election day on Tuesday looks very nice and rain chances really only exist Monday and Wednesday, although a couple models are showing a system moving through Saturday that could bring some rain. The confidence in that scenario is low at the moment due to huge model variability, but that is something we will continue to track!
