Pocahontas County, WV (WOAY) – Local ski resorts are opening for the year.
Snowshoe kicked off its Winter season Friday morning. The resort said the four to five inches of snow overnight gave skiers great conditions.
Snowshoe President, Patti Duncan, said the resort had some of its best opening day conditions in a long time.
Mountain State residents will be able to ski for free on Sunday, and the new Shavers Center is set to open soon.
