COAL CITY, WV (WOAY) – After making a big impact in 2019, Independence junior Atticus Goodson began the 2020 football season in similar fashion.
Goodson, who topped 1,700 rushing yards in spite of dealing with injuries in the later part of 2019, recorded more than 200 total yards and four first-half touchdowns in the Patriots’ home win against PikeView.
Even with the success, Goodson notes how his upbringing has allowed him to remain humble and not get carried away. With younger brother Cyrus also on the football team, it’s a chance for the whole family to be represented in a positive way.
Independence will stay in Coal City this Friday when they host River View.
