Shady Spring, WV (WOAY) – High school volleyball sectionals continued Tuesday, including Class AA Region 3 Section 2.
The opening match saw the host Lady Tigers win in four games against James Monroe, but the Lady Mavs would win in four games against PikeView to meet Shady Spring a second time in the championship round. The Lady Tigers would win in three games, but both teams have advanced to Saturday’s regional tournament at Westside.
Olivia Barnett was named tournament MVP, with Shady Spring also represented on the All-Tournament team by Bradlea Hayhurst and Mercedes Bloomfield. James Monroe was represented by Taylor Sams and Gracie Mann, while also making the team were PikeView’s Laken McKinney, Bluefield’s Hannah Hunt, and River View’s Bianca Blankenship.
