Shady Spring golf coach receives national award

Shady Spring, WV (WOAY) – A Raleigh County golf coach is the recipient of a national honor.

Greg Daniel Of Shady Spring High School has been named 2024 – 2025 Golf Coach of the Year by National Federation of State High School Associations.

Daniel has been the golf coach at Shady Spring High School since 1998. His team has made seven straight state tournament appearances, including two state championships, a runner-up finish, and placed in the top four multiple times. 

The Shady Spring golf team has also claimed six Coalfield Championships and five regional titles.
