The severe weather threat for Monday has been upgraded for our entire region. The main threats appears to be damaging winds up to 65 MPH and localized flooding. There could be three rounds of showers/storms that move through our region on Monday. The areas who get under all three rounds consistently will be the main areas where flash flooding would be a main concern.
Here is the look at Monday evening, this model shows some stronger storms moviing through parts of the Greenbrier Valley, but our entire area will be under that threat as the Slight Risk encompasses us all.
These next two graphis specifically talk about the flooding potential. A Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall is still in place for most of our area. The European model has also taken an increase in the amount of rain that will fall over the next 7 days. Yesterday it was hanging around the 1 inch range for the maximum amounts and now it’s showing over 2 inches of rainfall for the maximum amount for some of us.
Wednesday and Thursday should remain fairly dry, Saturday appears to be our next bigger chance of rain. Here’s a look at what one model shows for that, as you can see the majority of our area sitting in some of that heavier rain potential.
Here’s a look at the full 7 day forecast. Best chances of rain will be Monday and Saturday. Tuesday’s rain will be mainly early, but could linger throughout the day for some. Whereas Thursday’s rain will likely be very late into Friday morning. Most of the day Wednesday and Thursday should be very nice days with temperatures in the upper 70’s and lower 80’s.
