Sutton, WV (WOAY) Several people convicted of felony crimes in Braxton County are headed to prison following sentencing hearings in May 2026.
Javon Williams of North Carolina was sentenced to 1 to 10 years behind bars for bringing stolen property into West Virginia.
Prosecutors say Williams and three others brought more than $26,000 worth of stolen Home Depot merchandise to Flatwoods in January of 2025.
He’s also been ordered to pay restitution and cover extradition costs.

William Posey of Weston received 1 to 15 years in prison and a $5,000 fine for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
He was also sentenced to six months in jail for DUI after a traffic stop last June led troopers to recover drugs and items linked to drug distribution.

Brandon McCourt of Sutton was sentenced to 1 to 10 years in prison for grand larceny after stealing a Honda motorcycle from a Braxton County residence in November of 2024.
He must also pay $9,000 in restitution.

Tara Turley of Flatwoods was sentenced to 1 to 15 years in prison and fined $5,000 for possession with intent to deliver.
Investigators say methamphetamine and other drug-related items were found during a search of her home last August.
